But it’s not true anymore because you are able to do a lot of exercises that don’t require any apparatus and all you need is a mirror and a warm-up. And, you do not have to pay for any gym membership just to get started. It does not even cost you an arm and a leg to get started.

The most important thing you need to do is to be able to find the proper exercises. For instance, if you have a couple of hours in your hands, there are a lot of shadow boxing at home exercises you can do that will improve your boxing skills. These exercises include jumping rope, hanging from the ceiling, running on the floor, push ups and basic boxing drills like the boxing combination and the double leg hammerfist.

Some people may find it difficult to execute the foot work necessary for these types of boxing at home workouts but once you get the hang of it, they won’t be that hard at all. All you really need to do is focus on getting your legs as high as possible so that your opponent cannot anticipate where the punches are coming from. Once you’re able to do this, all you have to do is plant your feet firmly on the ground and jab your foot at your opponent. Jabs are primarily used to put an opponent off-guard, since footwork is usually what stops opponents from going to the body and putting leverage on you. Once you learn how to jab properly, you will be able to use jabs to set up punches to the head, chest and stomach of your opponent.
