Boxing ko means “take the belt” in Japanese. Although it is a little different from “boxing” it still makes a great workout and is great for cardiovascular fitness. If you are a big fan of kick boxing you may already be familiar with the term. It was first used in Japan in the 1970s and is now becoming more popular in the United States as well.
The basic premise of this form of boxing is to strike with your opponents body as if it is an opponent in a round robin style boxing match. This style gives you the best cardio workouts of your life because you are moving around constantly. You will find yourself breathing heavily at the end of the round as your heart has to work twice as hard as normal to maintain the speed and power with which you are punching.
For this reason many people prefer to do this in a public boxing facility such as a gym. However, it is also possible to learn at home. All it takes is determination and a little motivation. Once you start learning you will soon see improvements in speed and coordination. And you may want to take your exercise to the next level and become an all around fighter.
